It is Husqvarna, Hilti and Stihl throughout, plus a Soff-Cut early entry saw for joints and a Vermeer hydro excavation unit for spoil. We keep adding to it rather than making do, because a job done with the wrong machine costs more than the right one ever did.
It also means one crew can carry a whole job. Scan the slab, cut the opening, core the penetrations, break out what is left and cart it off, without a second contractor being booked and waited on.
Diesel, fits a doorway
The workhorse for long straight runs through slabs, roads and carparks. Unusually for a machine with this much cutting power it still fits through a standard doorway, so it works inside a building as well as on a road.

Runs on a track bolted to the wall, so the cut follows a set out line rather than a pair of hands. Cuts flush into corners and to full depth from one face, which is what lets us open a wall without touching the other side of it.

A diamond wire is a loop rather than a disc, so nothing about it is bound by blade radius. It cuts cold and almost without vibration, which is why it gets specified on bridges, heritage masonry and mass concrete.

To 270mm, and it plunges
Driven from the rim instead of the centre, so a handheld machine reaches close to double the depth of a standard demolition saw. It plunges rather than running off the end of a cut, so square openings come out without four overcut corners.

Up a ladder, into a roof space, down a trench, out on a plank over an empty pool. Quick to set up and quick to move, which makes it the right tool for small jobs and for the last few percent of big ones.

Cuts in the green zone
Dry cuts control joints within a couple of hours of the pour, well before a conventional wet saw could get near the slab. An anti ravel skid plate holds the surface together at the blade so the joint edge does not tear out.

Water fed and vacuumed
Diamond barrels cut a hole rather than smashing one, through concrete, brick, block and stone, in floors, walls and overhead. A recent school job ran nineteen holes at 280mm through a footpath.

Maps to 300mm deep
Ground penetrating radar that finds reinforcing bar, post tension tendons, metal and plastic conduit, live cable and voids before anything gets cut. Marked up on the surface so the set out can move instead of the blade finding out.

Spoil and slurry, off site
Runs alongside the core rig and draws the spoil and slurry away as each hole is finished, instead of letting it build up around the work area. It also digs safely around live services where a bucket cannot.

Remote, fully electric
Takes a hammer, a grapple or a crusher, and the operator stands well back from all three. No exhaust means it works inside occupied buildings, in basements and in plant rooms, and it is light enough for suspended floors.

Small enough to get down a side gate and into a backyard, big enough to break out and load a slab. Hired out on its own or working behind the saw crew on a cut and remove job.

The truck that floats the excavator to site and takes the concrete off it. Every load goes to a crushing plant to be recycled rather than to landfill.

Dust extracted at the head
Trip hazards, tile adhesive, line marking, failed coatings and surface prep for vinyl and epoxy. Extraction runs at the head, so a trading shop or an occupied office stays open while we work.

Progressive diamond passes and densifiers that turn the slab itself into the finished floor, from a burnished finish that keeps the cream through to full aggregate exposure.

Yes. The DXR 145 demolition robot is fully electric so it produces no exhaust, the core rigs are water fed and vacuumed, and the floor grinders extract dust at the head. We work in trading shops, offices and hospitals.
No. Everything goes out wet hire, with the operator who runs it. That covers the excavator and truck as well as the cutting gear.
