Riverside Concrete Cutting
Saw cut trench opened through a shed floor slab ready for services to go in

Concrete CuttingEchuca

One crew, every kind of cut, at whatever hour suits the job. Echuca is where this business started and the trucks are still through town most weeks.

The town this started in

Riverside Concrete Cutting ran out of Echuca before the base moved up the highway to Bendigo. The Echuca work never stopped, it just gets serviced from an hour and a half away instead of from the end of the street, and the crew already knows which slabs in town have surprises in them.

We own every machine we turn up with. Hand saws, ring saws, a diesel floor saw, track mounted wall saws, a diamond wire saw, core rigs, grinders, a Hilti concrete scanner, a remote controlled demolition robot and a three tonne excavator with a tipper behind it. Nothing is hired in and nothing is subcontracted out, so a job with four steps in it is still one crew and one invoice.

The phone is answered 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Echuca trades on people walking through the door, so a cafe, a pub, a shop or a holiday park should not have to shut for a day to get a slab opened up. We will cut it overnight or across a weekend instead.

What gets cut around Echuca

South and west of town it turns into irrigation and dairy country, so a good share of the calls come off farms around Rochester, Lockington and Kyabram. Dairy floors that need the old concrete out, pump sheds and channel structures cored for water and power, machinery slabs cut back to make room for a bigger shed. Rural jobs are usually a long way from a tap and a power point, which is why the gear on the truck runs off its own plant.

In town it is the opposite problem. The port precinct, the pubs and cafes along the river and the parks out towards Moama are all trading, often with people standing on the slab that needs cutting. Shopfront floors, grease traps, new plumbing threaded through an existing slab, trip hazards ground flat before the season starts. Those get scanned first, cut clean and swept up before the doors open.

The rest is builders and homeowners. Driveways and paths cut out and carted away, shed slabs trenched for services, bathroom and laundry floors cored for new plumbing, extensions where the old slab has to be squared off before the new one goes down. The scanning, the cutting, the breaking out and the carting are all ours, so it is one booking rather than three contractors turning up on three different days.

Concrete Cutting across the region

Bendigo is the base, but the truck is on the road most days. Same gear, same crew, same hours, right across central Victoria and southern New South Wales.

Asked often

How much does concrete cutting cost in Echuca?

It comes down to how thick the slab is, how long the cut is, what access is like and whether there is steel in it. Send a photo and a rough measurement and you will get a real price back the same business day instead of a range that tells you nothing.

You are based in Bendigo now, is there a travel charge to Echuca?

No. Echuca is one of our six regular towns and the truck is through there most weeks, so there is no travel loading on the quote. Further out than the district it gets priced into the job up front so there are no surprises on the invoice.

Can you cut after hours so we do not have to close?

Yes, and it is a big part of what we do in Echuca. We run 24 hours a day, all year, including nights, weekends and public holidays. A cafe, pub, shop or holiday park keeps trading and the cutting happens when the doors are shut.

Do you work on farms and dairies around Echuca?

Regularly. Dairy floors, pump sheds, channel structures, machinery slabs and shed extensions around Rochester, Lockington, Kyabram and out through the irrigation country. The gear runs off its own power and water, so being a paddock away from a tap is not a problem.

Do you check what is in the slab before you cut it?

Yes. We scan with a Hilti PS-1000, which finds rebar, post tension tendons, metal and plastic conduit, cables and voids to 300mm deep. On an occupied building or anything structural that scan happens before a blade goes anywhere near it.

Are you insured and accredited?

Yes. Fully insured, and a member of the Concrete Sawing and Drilling Association of Australia. On the polished concrete side we are also a Husqvarna Superfloor accredited contractor.
